Using a combination of microporous and monolithic film technologies, Stedair® 3000 meets and exceeds all requirements of the NFPA 1971 (2007 edition) and provides incredible total heat loss (THL) and thermal protective performance (TPP). Designed with a Teflon moisture barrier to help firefighters stay cooler and more comfortable and laminated with DuPont™ Nomex® E89™ substrate, Stedair® 3000 provides superior protection against water penetration, heat, and other harmful entities such as:

  • Blood-borne pathogens
  • Battery Acid
  • Hydraulic Fluid
  • Gasoline-Fuel C
  • Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF)
  • Chlorinated Water

verage TPP: 44*
Average THL: 255*

*NFPA 1971 (2007 ed) data, average of 125 composites.

What is BI-COMPONENT TECHNOLOGY?
Bi-component technology combines an expanded microporous PTFE (Teflon®) matrix and with monolithic technologies in a way that provides the greatest performance benefits possible. The microporous matrix contains small passages for flow of both air and moisture vapor while monolithic technology allow transmission of vapor by molecular diffusion through the polymer as a result of its hydrophilic (water-loving) nature.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • All moisture barriers manufactured today have FR polyurethane in them
  • Stedfast has its own formulated patented polyurethane
  • PU provides the protection from chemicals (NFPA 1971) from:
AFFF foam, battery acid, hydraulic fluid, gasoline, and chlorine
  • PU also provides VIRAL protection from blood-borne pathogens
